How GoBoat Works

How GoBoat works

Over 1.5 million visitors have skippered a GoBoat. Our boats are a safe, easy ride and our crew will get you shipshape with all the instructions before you set sail.

Only the designated captain has to be 18+, and there's room for your whole squad of up to 7 other shipmates. We've got life jackets to keep everyone safe including babies, and dogs are very welcome aboard too.

On board, you'll find a handy map laying out all the permitted waters for your adventure. No need to get hangry out on the water, you can bring a picnic and drinks to keep your crew topped up.

Hungry or thirsty?

Packing some snacks and drinks is a must for levelling up your GoBoat adventure. Because what's better than a picnic on the water? Quite literally, nothing.

You're totally free to BYO food and beverages, but why do all that prep work when you can easily add on food and drink provisions when booking your sailing trip online?

And if you didn't quite load up enough supplies, no problem - you can still grab extra drinks and snacks when you arrive and check in for your voyage.

The assortment varies depending on which location you are sailing from.

How to be a good captain

To steer a GoBoat, place your dominant hand on the handle. Be aware that the handle steers in the opposite direction of where you point. To sail forward and backward, twist the handle to the right to move forward and to the left to reverse.

Keep a vigilant eye on other vessels and always adhere to the direction of travel. React in good time as a boat cannot turn or brake particularly quickly. As a general rule, keep to the right - as in traffic.

The yellow buoys indicate shallow water, so please keep a distance from these areas to prevent the boat from getting stuck.

Spread the good vibes and wave to other sailors and passersby on the quay.
